Trip to Prague

The last time I had the chance to travel abroad was many years before, so i was really excited to go on a trip again. My chosen city was Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. I'm spending here three days with my family. 

We arrived yesterday around 12 pm. The train ride was a bit long, but i was watching a series, therefore i didn't get bored. After we got off the train, we checked in to the hotel, put our stuff down and went to explore the city. 

Our first destination was the Charles Bridge. We walked over it and made a ton of pictures to capture the moment. Afterwards, we climbed up to the Old Bridge Tower and admired the beautiful views of the city and Vltava River. 

At night we visited the Anonymous Shrink's Office, which is an underground cocktail bar. We had to enter via a secret door, so the whole place gave off the vibes of American speakeasy bars. The bartender wears a mask too. We could order our drinks based on cards with different color schemes. Each of those cards represents a different drink from the menu, and we had no absolutely idea what we will get until it arrived. They said that whatever card you are the most drawn is meant to be the drink you will enjoy the most. In our case, the concept actually did work. 

Today we woke up really early to visit as many things as we could, like the Old Royal Palace, the St. George Basilica, the Golden Lane and the St. Vithus Cathedral. Entering Prague's castle ground was free, but we bought tickets to get into the buildings. I'm in love with the architectural style, as the Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque elements blend into each other. 

After that, we explored the Old Town Square, which is a big and wide square surrounded with impressive buildings. We watched the Astronomical Clock’s show as the 12 Apostoles set in motion.

Later we made a quick stop at the Lennon Wall to take some colorful photos and listened to the live performance from street artists. Here, the graffiti is legal and it became a very popular spot to tourists. 

Tomorrow, on our last day, we plan to visit Prague's narrowest alley, which is less than 50 cm wide. Two people can't pass from opposite directions, so there's a traffic light which shows when you can enter the street. We will try to find some of the sculptures that David Cerny made, which are very unusual to say the least. For example, giant babies, upside down horse, hanging man etc.
